Truthfulness

“Brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; above all taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the Evil One. . . . . . .”

So, in today’s teaching, the Apostle Paul reminds us about how evil the times are and how terribly dangerous what we contend with is.

However, he goes further to enjoin us, that above any other thing, we must be truthful.

Firstly, we must be truthful to our self. One is only capable of truthfulness to another person if they are first truthful to themselves.

Truthful people are rare species. As much as they are dreaded and hated, that is how much more they are equally sought after.

People of questionable characters usually seek the truthful person known commonly to both parties to witness, be an umpire or mediate between them.

Curiously, those who acquire some ill-gotten wealth yet seek truthful people to manage it for them.

The world has not reduced to a complete chaos and free for all because of the subsisting nature of truthful people.

Dear friend, truthfulness is not a schedule that can be turned on and off at convenience. It is a nature, in one’s character and an attitude. It is also a decision that can equally be imbibed.

So, my dear friend, if we make that decision today, the world would be one person more safer, secure and better.

May God grant us the grace to permit His will to be realised in our life.

Have fantastic day folks.
