“Let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.”
Excerpt, First Reading, Tuesday 7th January 2025 – 1 JOHN 4:7- 10.
So, you do know as much we all do that one can only give what one has. You can not give what you do not have.
If one has two pairs of shoes, they can choose to give one pair to a needy person.
Some may even be so extreme that having just one pair of shoes, they may still go ahead and surrender them to someone else whom they feel has more crucial need of them. This is love.
This, my dear friend, is also likened to love.
It is one who has felt love that knows love and can give love.
Some of us have been so battered that love seems and feels weird to us. Nevertheless, we can be repaired when we dispose of ourselves to love
We must dispose ourselves to love so that we too can love as much.
Love is not just about sympathy and compassion, there must also be some empathy as well as actions if and when we can.
In today’ Gospel, after empathising with the people, Christ, after feeding them spiritually, also gave them physical food.
We must have love so we, too, will be capable of giving it.
Have a fantastic day folks.
