Make Good the Little Things

“This is the second death, the lake of fire; and if any one’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”

Excerpt, First Reading, Friday 29th Nov. 2024 – REVELATIONS 20:1-4, 11-21:2.

So, we have ever have cause to walk under the scorching sun for just an hour?

I guess, to most of us, especially the ‘millennias’ that would be a harrowing experience.

Although, to some of us, while not alluding to getting familiar with suffering, it has become a usual routine.

Nevertheless, whether a regular routine or not, having to walk under the hot sun is never an experience that one can be used to or can be enjoyed.

As we already know, the heat of the sun scorches us skin deep, however, we never get to be burnt off as we see fire consume things that are thrown into it to be burnt.

Similarly it is said to be about the Lake of Fire. Just like the sun, it scorches without consuming. However, the heat is said to be over a zillion times hotter and more uncomfortable than the sun and the usual fire we are familiar with.

So, to those of us that a little sun gets us so uncomfortable, we must endeavour to ensure that our name gets into The Book of Life. That my dear friend is the only way to avoid the uncomfortable lake of fire.

About that Book of Life, my dear friend, ‘man know man’ no dey inside o! Neither would having the proverbial ‘long legs’ be of any respite. Even your papa and your mama no fit help. Bribery and corruption no reach dat side o!

My dear friend, about getting to have our name written in that book, it is all man for himself.

Dear friend, this is not some kind of fairy tale or talking tough,
Christ Jesus himself said it, “Truly, I say to you, . . . . . . . . . . . .Heaven
and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” – LUKE 21:29-33.

Nonetheless, it is equally not something like rocket science or does it require any theatrics or the kind of Mother Theresa type of sacrifice, neither does it require one to be as philanthropic as Bill Gate and Rockefeller put together to have one’s name enter the Book of Life.

By the way, if any one is capable of any or all of the☝️above, by all means, do them.

Nevertheless, it is doing rightly the simple little everyday things of everyday life that matters and counts for us.

As have always been reiterated, God is more persuaded by our deliberate positive efforts to become Good morning, Stella. You still haven’t sent me the fabrics.

Folks, have a fantastic day and a pleasant weekend.
